Update Season

This is the season of updates. No matter what platform you use, you ought to be effected by this. Almost simultaneously, Microsoft and Apple have released major updates to their latest operating systems. Microsoft Windows Vista has seen the release of SP1 on Mar 18, whereas, Apple's update for Mac OS 10.4 and 10.5 was released a day later.

Vista SP1 is expected to address a number of issues related to customer experience as well as security. However, a number of issues regarding hardware compatibility are expected to remain. Some software like Bit Defender Internet Security might have problems in running on Vista SP1. It is still early days to take out a complete list of incompatibility issues.

On the other hand, the largest yet update brought out by Apple computers, known as Security Update 2008-002 is expected to plug a total of 90 vulnerabilities in OS 10.4 and 10.5.
